Job Details
  • Position: Medical Receptionist
  • Location: Medical Arts Pavilion - 5 Plainsboro Road, Plainsboro, NJ
  • Department: Plainsboro Multi-specialty
  • Hours: Full Time, Monday-Friday 8am-5pm

External Applicants will receive a $500 sign-on bonus!

Responsibilities
  • Greet incoming patients, noting their arrival time in the scheduling system.
  • Confirm patient demographic information by providing forms and HIPAA privacy notices for completion.
  • Instruct new patients on completing information forms, obtain insurance information, set up medical records, and attach copies to encounter slips.
  • File demographic/HIPAA info in medical records and make copies of new insurance cards.
  • Collect co-payments, process payments, and issue receipts.
  • Collect referrals when needed.
  • Update medical records on EMR and check them in promptly.
  • Answer phone lines promptly, transfer calls, and take messages as needed.
  • Schedule patient appointments and follow-ups, coordinate referrals and physician notes.
  • Confirm next-day appointments and remind patients to bring referrals/records.
  • Coordinate scheduling for additional testing ordered by physicians.
  • Maintain knowledge of insurance and billing requirements, including verification, co-payments, and referrals.
Qualifications
  • Required: H.S. Diploma/GED
  • Preferred: Two years of medical receptionist/front desk experience, knowledge of medical terminology, associates degree or coding certification.
