BMC is a local, independent, and physician-owned medical group with over 20 primary and specialty care departments, 90 providers, and 325+ clinical and support professionals. Since our founding by 10 physicians in 1949, we have grown and evolved to meet the needs of Boulder County and beyond.

We currently have clinics located in Boulder (2 locations), Louisville, Longmont, and Erie.

Summary

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is currently seeking a candidate to join our Ophthalmology team as a medical receptionist that is crossed trained as an ophthalmic assistant. This position is benefit eligible working 40 hours per week Monday - Friday. We take a team approach to helping patients receive thorough, efficient and educational visits to the ophthalmology department. You will receive on-the-job training working with both of our physicians who are board-certified ophthalmologists and have been certified in diversity, equity and inclusion.

  • Day shift work schedules.
  • Experience working within a multi-specialty group practice with both primary and specialty care clinics.

Job Duties

  • Answers phones and checks patients in for appointments
  • Performs administrative/clerical duties such as filing and faxing
  • Supports the provider in a variety of patient care duties and performs related clerical duties in accordance with the area assigned
  • Rooms patients and records all medical information in the patients EMR
  • Prepares exam rooms for providers use, documents all prescribed, OTC medication and drug samples per protocols
  • Maintains equipment and medical supplies

Required Experience

  • Skills: Strong, competent computer skills; good time management and organizational skills.
  • Abilities: Relate well and communicate with patients, providers, and staff. Able to demonstrate self-direction in establishing priorities and working with little supervision. Able to maintain high level of precision in judgment, accuracy of assessment, and skill in problem solving under stress based on skill level, licensure and scope of practice.

Education Requirements (one Of The Following Options)

  • High school diploma or higher. Please provide copy of transcripts.

Experience

  • No experience required.

The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience:

  • $17.91 - $22.92/hour

This position will be posted for a minimum of three days, subsequently until filled.
