Position Summary:

The receptionist is responsible for supporting office operations and works independently and interdependently with other office staff to provide efficient, cost-effective, quality patient care.

Employment Details:

Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To:
  • Promote a healthy work environment
  • Work collaboratively with CNY Family Group
  • Review CCDs for CNY Family Group and route to appropriate team members
  • Collaborate and communicate regularly with management regarding goals, needs/concerns
  • Phone support – Incoming and outgoing calls
  • Scanning and faxing documentation
General Performance Criteria:
  • Perform critical functions that lead to a streamlined patient experience
  • Ensure schedules are accurate based on provider preferences and standards
  • Meet performance measures and complete job functions by review date
  • Work collaboratively with staff and management
Communication:
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding patients, families, employees, and service-specific information
  • Answer and route phone calls appropriately, record messages when necessary
  • Use proper diction and grammar in conversations
Customer Service:
  • Employ professional manners and tact in all dealings
  • Remain courteous and calm during interruptions
  • Adhere to hospital confidentiality policies
Service Specific Skills:
  • Distribute messages, packages, and supplies appropriately
  • Implement daily operations of the service environment
  • Maintain a safe and secure environment
Equipment:
  • Competency with PC terminals, telephones, copier, email, fax machine
Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent; business or secretarial training a plus. 1-2 years’ experience preferred. Participation in ongoing education is expected.

Additional Requirements:

Knowledge of office equipment and service-related terminology, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, customer service orientation.

Work Environment & Physical Demands:

Office setting, light physical activity, remote work options may be available post-training.

Work Contact Group:

Interactions with all services, staff, patients, visitors, regulatory agencies.

Supervision:

Managed by a supervisor or coordinator.

Pay Range:

$17.75 - $23.60, based on experience, skills, education, and location.
