BMC is a local, independent, and physician-owned medical group with over 20 primary and specialty care departments, 90 providers, and 325+ clinical and support professionals. Since our founding by 10 physicians in 1949, we have grown and evolved to meet the needs of Boulder County and beyond.

We currently have clinics located in Boulder (2 locations), Louisville, Longmont, and Erie.

Summary:

Boulder Medical Center (BMC) is seeking customer service-oriented candidates to join our Receptionist team! This position is full-time, benefit-eligible, working 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday, based at the BMC Broadway location (2750 Broadway St., Boulder, CO 80304) in our X-Ray Department.

  • Full-time employees are eligible for medical/dental/vision, flexible spending, company-paid life insurance, RTD EcoPass, 401(k), Paid Time Off (PTO), and six paid holidays annually.
  • Part-time employees are eligible for medical/dental/vision, company-paid life insurance, voluntary benefits, RTD EcoPass, 401(k), and holiday pay (if scheduled to work on an observed holiday).
  • Experience working with both primary care and specialty care clinics is preferred.
Job Duties:
  • Answer the telephone promptly, evaluate patient needs to determine appointment type.
  • Summarize appointment details before ending the call.
  • Manage all phone functionalities such as transfers, holds, forwarding to after-hours message system, etc.
  • Accurately record patient names, contact numbers, and demographic information with correct spelling and punctuation.
  • Schedule, reschedule, or cancel appointments according to provider preferences and scheduling protocols.
  • Navigate and operate Electronic Medical Records system, arriving patients for appointments, and inputting relevant information as needed.
Experience and Skills:
  • Use good judgment, professionalism, and discretion when screening calls, answering inquiries, and relaying information.
  • Work under pressure maintaining phone etiquette with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Strong computer and data entry skills.
  • Strong grammar, spelling, reading, writing, and understanding of English.
  • Neat, well-groomed appearance and courteous manner.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA compliance is preferred.
Education:
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Associates Degree or some college coursework in Business or Healthcare Administration is preferred.
Experience:
  • One year of previous work experience involving public contact, preferably with heavy phone use.
  • Previous experience with patient scheduling in a hospital or clinic setting is preferred.
  • Bi-lingual ability (Spanish) is a plus.

The starting hourly pay range for this position is commensurate with experience: $17.19 - $22.92/hour (full pay range is $17.19 - $25.79).

This position will be posted for a minimum of three days, subsequently until filled.
