Position Summary

The Medical Receptionist is the first point of contact for patients in the medical practice. Responsibilities include greeting patients, answering phones, assisting families, scheduling, registration, charge entry, payment posting, batch balancing, cash reconciliation, and operating office equipment. This intermediate position requires excellent customer service, discretion, good judgment, professionalism, and a clear phone voice. Internal and external contacts include patients, families, co-workers, physicians, and the public.

Requirements

• Post high school office procedures preferred
• Minimum one (1) year of clerical or receptionist experience; or six (6) months in a medical setting
• Customer service experience
• Degree or relevant certificate (e.g., Medical Office Assistant, Medical Assistant, Health Unit Coordinator) may substitute for experience
