As the first and last point of contact for patients, Medical Receptionists are the face of the practice and play a critical role in shaping the patient's experience. They create a welcoming, professional, and compassionate environment while ensuring efficient scheduling, accurate patient information, and seamless communication between patients and clinical staff. Through exceptional customer service, attention to detail, and a commitment to confidentiality, Medical Receptionists help build patient trust, support operational excellence, and contribute to the overall success and reputation of the practice.
MAJOR DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Deliver a professional, welcoming patient experience from arrival through departure.
- Ensure provider schedules are optimized to support patient access, productivity, and operational efficiency.
- Facilitate timely communication and resolution of patient inquiries, requests, and concerns.
- Maintain accurate patient information, documentation, and records to support quality care and compliance.
- Verify coverage and collect patient financial responsibilities to support revenue cycle integrity.
- Coordinate effectively with clinical and administrative teams to ensure seamless patient care.
- Ensure patient visits are prepared and processed efficiently, minimizing delays and disruptions.
- Maintain an organized, professional front office environment that reflects Dermio Dermatology's standards.
- Contribute to the achievement of Dermio Dermatology's mission, vision, values, and patient service goals
Requirements

- Willingness and ability to travel between office locations as needed
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or GED is required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Prior experience in a medical, dermatology, or specialty healthcare front office setting
- Familiarity with medical scheduling systems and electronic health records (EHR), ModMed/EMA
- Experience with insurance verification and patient financial collection processes
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic understanding of dermatology services
- Experience handling multi-provider schedules in a high-volume clinical environment
- Prior exposure to patient intake, registration, and front desk operations
- Bilingual communication skills (a plus, depending on patient population needs), Spanish
