Job summary

OhioHealth in Columbus seeks a dedicated administrative and basic clinical support teammate for our GYN ONC Riverside ambulatory care site. You will assist with rooming patients, take vitals, and help with EMR documentation to ensure smooth patient flow and care coordination.

Training is provided before placement; you will support the health care team, schedule orders, refill meds, and help maintain a safe, clean environment.

Qualifications

• High School degree or GED required; on‑the‑job training provided for ambulatory care.
• Basic clinical competencies; non‑invasive rooming and vitals may be required.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills to support patient care.

Responsibilities

• Complete rooming of patients and monitor vitals as needed.
• Perform EKGs when required and assist with medication refills.
• Document in Care Connect EMR and maintain accurate records.
• Communicate with patients and care team to ensure continuity of care.
• Maintain clean exam rooms and report equipment issues to staff.

This role does not function as a formal Medical Assistant but may be required to perform basic, non-invasive rooming and VS skills if needed.Attends training to gain clinical experience before placement into ambulatory care site.Responsibilities And Duties:RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIESSuccessful completion of clinical competencies established for the practice site enabling efficient and effective patient flow, ie. Rooming, medication refills, basic patient care skills.Successful completion of Care Connect EMR documentation skillsPerforms necessary administrative duties that assure all information is current and updatedConducts following tasks as appropriatePend medical orders and medication refillsPerform and record vitals and roomingPerform EKG as necessaryPrescription refill ordersDocument telephone encounterso Communicates, collaborates, and anticipates the needs of the health care team in order to ensure continuity and quality of care and coordination of services.o Maintains and cleans environment, work area, equipment, and communicates any equipment malfunctions to appropriate dept/unit personnel.o Stocks and cleans exam room after use.o Communicates malfunctioning equipment/ instruments to appropriate department/unit staff. Removes from service any malfunctioning equipment.o Orders and puts away supplies.o Provides transport assistance to patients when needed (i.e. wheelchair, walker, etc.).o Maintaining office logs and rounding summaries.o Completes paperwork preparation for office.o Enters external data into EMR system correctly.o Communicates with patients and customers in a respectful and caring mannero Completes required continuous training and education, including department specific requirements.o Promotes and advocates for patient quality, safety, and experience initiatives.
