Job summary

Northwell Health in New York State is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to support clinical teams across multiple practice settings. You will assist clinicians with exams, take patient histories, and provide direct patient care while ensuring safety and compliance.

The role involves potential travel between practices; active LPN license and BLS within 30 days are required, with a significant sign-on bonus for full-time externals.

Qualifications

• Active LPN license in the state.
• BLS certification within 30 days.
• Graduate of an accredited LPN program.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Prepares materials, supplies, equipment, and the patient to assist clinician with the patient's medical exam.
• Obtains the patient's history and medical information.
• Provides direct patient care as directed by a Registered Nurse or clinician.
• Collects and processes specimens as directed by the clinician and performs point of care testing.
• Administers medications, and vaccinations as directed by the clinician. Instructs the patient and family on how to perform clinician recommended preventive care, takes prescribed medication, prepares for tests, monitors treatment progress and notes symptom changes.
• Contacts the patient to provide requested follow-up, advises them of test results or relays clinicians instructions.
• Fulfills and adheres to all compliance responsibilities related to the position.
• Maintains and Models the Organization's values.
• Demonstrates regular, dependable, and predictable attendance.
• Performs other duties as required.
