Medical Policy Research Analyst
Remote

The medical policy research analyst is responsible for identifying, appraising, and summarizing scientific literature, clinical practice guidelines, and state and federal health policies to develop and implement Providence Health Plan (PHP) & Providence Health Assurance (PHA) medical policies. These policies serve as the basis for coverage decisions made by internal clinical staff and external providers. Primary responsibilities include critically evaluating current peer-reviewed scientific evidence to assess the safety and efficacy of medical devices, procedures, services, and laboratory testing.

Remote Work Eligibility

Providence Health Plan welcomes 100% remote work for applicants residing in the following states:

  • Washington
  • Oregon
  • California
Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in a health science-related field (e.g., Nursing, Pharmacy, Public Health, Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Genetics) or current licensure/professional certification (e.g., RN, PA)
  • At least 3 years of clinical or research experience
  • At least 2 years of experience developing and drafting medical policies and assessing medical technologies
  • Experience in collecting, critically evaluating, and summarizing scientific literature, clinical practice guidelines, and other relevant sources
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working in a health plan
  • Medical coding experience
Salary Range by Location

Ranges vary by state and region, e.g., California (Humboldt): Min $54.40, Max $85.88; Oregon (Portland): Min $52.19, Max $82.39; Washington (Western): Min $54.40, Max $85.88, etc.
