Siemens Healthineers in Prescott, AZ is seeking a Medical Physics Assistant to join our radiation oncology program. The role involves clinical duties including dosimetry calibrations, QA, safety measures, and treatment planning under the supervision of medical physics staff.

You will develop a personal study plan to achieve clinical competency and participate in scholarly activities and committees related to technical and patient-care activities.

Qualifications

• AA or BS degree is required or preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop personal program of self-study and clinical competency with guidance from the medical physics staff.
• Contact with employees and physicians in radiation oncology and the public requiring professionalism, tact, diplomacy, and interventional planning. Patient confidentiality must be maintained at all times.
• Clinical duties include observation in radiation dosimetry calibrations and measurements; linear accelerator quality assurance; radiation safety measures; radiotherapy treatment planning; fabrication and QA of radiotherapy aids (immobilization devices, blocks, compensators, bolus); brachytherapy dosimetry and QA; SRS dosimetry and QA; IMRT dosimetry and QA.
• Participate in educational and scholarly activities of the program.
• Participate in departmental and institutional committees related to technical, safety, and patient care activities.
• Communicate effectively with physicians, patients, guests and all members of the healthcare team in a professional manner.
• Maintain compliance with all policies and requirements; perform other duties as assigned.
