Job summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, a world-renowned pediatric hospital, is seeking a Medical Physics Assistant for the Department of Radiation Oncology in Memphis. The role supports photon and proton therapy programs, performing QA, data handling, and equipment maintenance.

Required: bachelor’s in physical sciences; medical physics degrees preferred. Two+ years of relevant experience and proton therapy exposure are desirable as the department advances clinical and translational pediatric

Qualifications

  • Two or more years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Direct experience in proton therapy preferred.
  • Experience performing routine QA or physics services with photon/proton therapy equipment is desirable.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine medical physics services under the direction of a Medical Physicist.
  • Conduct QA for photon and proton treatment machines and imaging systems.
  • Collect, process and maintain treatment-related data.
  • Maintain and organize medical physics equipment and documentation.
  • Support radiation safety protocols and quality control initiatives.
  • Contribute to departmental quality improvement efforts and reporting.
  • Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
