Job summary

Piedmont Athens Regional Hospital is seeking a Medical Physicist to support the planning and delivery of therapeutic radiation treatment. You will provide clinical leadership and setup expertise to radiation oncologists, dosimetrists and therapists, and perform QA on department equipment in compliance with regulatory standards.

The role requires a Masters in Medical Physics, 3 years of clinical experience or CAMPEP residency, and ARDMS/ARRT eligibility with Georgia licensure and ABR maintenance.

Qualifications

• Masters degree of Science in Medical Physics, or related discipline.
• 3 years of clinical experience in a radiation therapy department or CAMPEP approved residency program.
• Licenses and Certifications: ARDMS or ARRT Radiographer Board Eligible by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Radiation Physics, authorization on State of Georgia Radioactive Material License, and ABR Maintenance of Certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide physics services for planning and delivery of therapeutic radiation treatment as prescribed by Radiation Oncologist.
• Provide technical leadership and clinical-set-up expertise to physicians, dosimetrists and therapists.
• Perform quality assurance checks on all department equipment in line with regulatory requirements.
