Job summary

Northwestern Medicine is seeking a Medical Physicist to support the Radiosurgery and Radiation Oncology departments. The role focuses on developing and documenting precise treatment plans, collaborating with radiation oncologists, and contributing to quality assurance and regulatory compliance.

You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure safe and effective patient care. The position emphasizes advanced treatment modalities, research support, and adherence to ethics and policy

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Medical Physics or equivalent is required.
• Eligible or registered with Illinois Department of Nuclear Safety as Therapeutic Radi Physicist.
• Board certified in Therapeutic Radiology by ABR or American College of Medical Physics.
• Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and verify prescribed radiation treatment plans in consultation with the radiation oncologist.
• Develop CT, MRI, PET-based plans including fusion.
• Prepare patient charts and documentation for physics checks and treatment delivery.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality assurance, and regulatory standards.
• Assist with commissioning of new equipment and development of new treatment techniques.
