Job summary

Qualifications

• Two years of experience as a medical physicist in a full-service radiation therapy center including residency.

Responsibilities

• Acceptance and commissioning of LINAC.
• Implementation of clinical stereotactic program.
• Radiation therapy equipment calibration and quality assurance.
• Collaboration with clinical and medical staff on simulation and treatment planning.
• Provide ongoing oversight of quality and safety of patient treatment delivery.
• Participation in department quality assurance and continuous quality improvement programs.
• Participation in clinical research efforts.
• Collaborates in network physics initiatives.

This position is an exciting opportunity for an experienced physicist looking to advance their career at a comprehensive cancer care center. The position is part of a core team of 4 physicists and two physics residents that are responsible for supporting Radiation Oncology in the newly expanded and renovated Cancer Center in Flint and two nearby satellite centers.

Essential Responsibilities

Required

• Master's or PhD degree in medical physics or related discipline.
• Certified in therapeutic medical physics from American Board of Radiology (ABR) or equivalent certification from Canadian College of Physicists in Medicine (CCPM) or American Board of Medical Physics (ABMP).
• Two years of experience as a medical physicist in a full-service radiation therapy center including residency

Preferred

• Five years of work experience in a full-service radiation therapy center after receiving board certification in therapeutic medical physics.
• Inclusion on HDR brachytherapy license currently or in the past y center. l physics .
