Medical Physicist – Radiation Oncology

Location: Iowa

Full-Time | 40 Hours/Week | No Weekends | On-Call 1:2

Clinic Setting | Desired Start: ASAP

About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and team-oriented Medical Physicist to join our dynamic Radiation Oncology team. You will be responsible for ensuring the safe delivery of therapeutic radiological physics services, compliance with quality assurance standards, and implementation of advanced treatment technologies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality medical physics services in a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment.
  • Participate in calibration, commissioning, QA of linear accelerators, and treatment planning systems.
  • Assist in patient-specific QA, chart QA, plan checks, and support for Radiation Oncologists, Dosimetrists, and therapists.
  • Engage in clinical teaching and process improvements aligned with departmental goals.
  • Technologies supported include: SRS, SBRT, IMRT, DIBH, gating, SGRT, 3D Conformal using TomoTherapy Hi-Art and Varian TrueBeam.
  • Utilize ARIA for record/verify and Eclipse/Tomoplan for treatment planning.

Team Structure

  • 2 Physicists, 2 Dosimetrists, 8 Radiation Therapists, 3 RNs, and full administrative/support staff.
  • ~35 patients treated daily on 2 machines.

Requirements

  • MS or PhD in Radiological Sciences or Medical Physics.
  • Board Eligible or Board Certified by ABR or ABMP.
  • Must obtain or be willing to obtain Iowa Radiation Therapy Physicist registration.
  • Iowa State License or willingness to obtain.
  • Clean malpractice history.
  • Visa support available for H1B and J1 candidates.
  • Not open to locums, 1099, or commuting candidates.
