Job summary

Sagis Diagnostics, a physician-led pathology group in Houston, TX, is seeking an Experienced Medical Payment Poster. The role focuses on posting patient payments and insurance checks, processing remittances, and maintaining HIPAA compliance in a fast-paced lab environment.

The ideal candidate has 3–5 years in medical payment posting, strong Excel and Word skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team across multiple billing entities. High school diploma required; on-site in Houston.

Qualifications

• High-school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3–5 years of medical payment posting experience, preferably in a pathology lab.
• Experience reading EOBs and handling electronic remittance processing is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand EOBs from all carriers.
• Process electronic remittance using Waystar/Zirmed.
• Enter patient payments and insurance checks.
• Process credit card payments.
• Review and resolve overpayments on patient accounts.
• Apply ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS coding knowledge.
• Maintain confidentiality per HIPAA guidelines.
• Work across multiple billing entities and systems.
• Overtime may be required.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Read and understand EOB’s from all carriers
• Perform electronic remittance processing through Waystar/Zirmed
• Manually enter patient payments and insurance checks
• Process credit card payments
• Review and process overpayments on the patient accounts
• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT and HCPCS coding
• Demonstrate effective organizational and communication skills
• Must be result oriented and maintain quality results by following company standards
• Must be reliable, responsible, and dependable
• Analytical and multi-tasking skills are required
• Must be able to identify inconsistencies and provide solutions
• Ability to learn laboratory procedures and protocols
• Ability to balance daily between billing system and bank accounts
• Must have good written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work in multiple billing entities and/or systems
• Ability to work overtime when needed
• Ensure confidentiality of patient information by following HIPAA guidelines
• Maintain a high level of professionalism with patients/customers and internal staff
• Ability to be flexible with changing business needs
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and deadline driven environment

QualificationsJob Qualifications:

• High-school or equivalent
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in medical payment posting experience or equivalent, preferably in a pathology lab setting

Required Skills:

• Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Word and Excel required
• Will require the ability to work both independently and as part of a team
• Attention to detail and accuracy
