Job summary

Printpack’s Medical Division is seeking qualified candidates for Product Development Engineer I or II. This role supports commercialization of blown film and converted products across locations in the US and Mexico, reporting to the Product Development Manager.

The position requires collaboration with customers, suppliers, and internal teams to drive innovation, process improvements, and new material technology while maintaining strong customer relationships.

Qualifications

• Experience in product development or flexible converting preferred.
• Engineering or manufacturing background in flexible packaging or related industry (process engineer/quality).
• Experience with continuous improvement, cost savings, process improvements, and raw material sourcing initiatives.
• Evidence of experience in both innovation and onboarding execution.
• Evidence of relationship building with customers and internal/external stakeholders.
• Evidence of presentation skills and business awareness.
• Experience leading cross-functional teams with business results.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with customers, suppliers, and cross-functionally with sales, marketing, manufacturing, and operations planning for timely commercialization of new products and improvements.
• Design and validate specifications to be fit-for-use and fit-for-make.
• Lead customer technical calls/visits and trials to expedite commercialization.
• Serve as primary technical contact for assigned customers and provide onsite trial support.
• Support manufacturing technical needs for existing specs and provide on-site trial support.
• Be a resource for material/process related root cause investigations.
• Lead divisional initiatives on new converting and raw material technology.
• Identify opportunities for innovative growth and share within Printpack’s technical community.
