Job summary

LEGOLAND California Resort is seeking a Medical Operations Supervisor to support the Medical Operations Manager in daily resort medical services, emergency response programs, and occupational health initiatives. You will lead EMTs/Paramedics, oversee incident documentation, and ensure regulatory compliance while maintaining a strong guest-centric health presence.

  • Graduate of a State-accredited EMT or Paramedic program.
  • Current California and San Diego County EMT or Paramedic certification in good standing.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Minimum 2 years of EMS field or clinical experience.
  • Experience as a Paramedic, Bridged EMT within a 911 system, or Critical Care Transport provider.

Responsibilities

The Medical Operations Supervisor supports the Medical Operations Manager in the leadership, administration, and daily operation of Resort medical services, emergency response programs, occupational health initiatives, and guest safety operations. This role serves as the department's second-in-command, providing operational leadership, team development, compliance oversight, and support during emergency and medical incidents.

What You'll Do
Emergency Operations & Response
  • Support emergency response operations and incident management across the Resort.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of emergency response plans.
  • Coordinate response efforts with Security, Operations, Health & Safety, and external agencies.
  • Lead emergency preparedness exercises and after-action reviews.
  • Support emergency protocols, including evacuations, access control, and first-response coordination.
  • Serve as department leader in the absence of the Medical Operations Manager.
Incident Management
  • Supervise medical responses and ensure accurate reporting and documentation.
  • Conduct incident debriefs and recommend process improvements.
  • Monitor trends and recurring incidents and elevate concerns as needed.
  • Provide leadership during complex guest, employee, and medical incidents.
Team Leadership & Development
  • Supervise, coach, and mentor EMTs and Paramedics.
  • Support day-to-day Health Services operations.
  • Assist with EMT recruitment, candidate selection, and onboarding.
  • Coordinate EMT training, skills verification, simulations, and competency programs.
  • Establish expectations for guest service, professionalism, appearance, and incident response.
  • Support performance management and corrective action processes.
Guest Safety & Experience
  • Maintain a reassuring and professional medical presence throughout the Resort.
  • Support empathetic guest interactions during incidents.
  • Champion a "Guest Obsessed" culture through active park engagement.
  • Inspire a positive and high-performing team environment.
Operational Leadership
  • Assist with staffing coordination, resource planning, and vendor support.
  • Monitor operational metrics and recommend improvements.
  • Maintain departmental policies, procedures, and compliance standards.
  • Oversee readiness, inspections, and quality assurance of medical equipment and response vehicles.
  • Manage first aid, oxygen, AED, stair chair, and medical supply inventories.
  • Track staff certifications and training compliance.
  • Support audits, accreditation readiness, and regulatory requirements.
Health & Safety
  • Partner with Health & Safety to identify risks and improve workplace safety initiatives.
  • Ensure proper medical documentation, reporting, and recordkeeping.
  • Manage patient contact log audits and medical file compliance.
  • Support bloodborne pathogen, chemical exposure, and occupational health follow-up processes.
  • Assist with Workers' Compensation documentation and compliance.
Qualifications & Experience
Qualifications Required
  • Graduate of a State-accredited EMT or Paramedic program
  • Current California and San Diego County EMT or Paramedic certification in good standing
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
  • Minimum 2 years of EMS field or clinical experience
  • Experience as a Paramedic, Bridged EMT within a 911 system, or Critical Care Transport provider
  • Valid driver's license with a safe driving record
Preferred
  • Bachelor's degree
  • ACLS and/or PALS certification
  • 4+ years of EMS experience
  • Theme park, hospitality, or large venue medical operations experience
Skills & Abilities
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and communication skills
  • Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions during emergencies
  • Knowledge of medical terminology and documentation practices
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive situations professionally
  • Experience with Workers' Compensation processes and documentation
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and business software systems

  • Availability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays
