Job summary

The US Oncology Network in Minnesota is seeking experienced Nurse Practitioners and Physician Assistants to join our oncology team in Chaska and surrounding clinics. The incumbents will provide comprehensive patient care, including assessment, planning, interventions, and education, with opportunities for involvement in research and sharing expertise across the network.

Ideal candidates hold an MSN or PA certification, with at least three years of practice in oncology, MN licensure, and CPR

Qualifications

• MSN from an accredited program and Nurse Practitioner certification
• Current Minnesota RN license and current certification as Nurse Practitioner
• Minimum of three years of experience as a practicing NP
• Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effects of cancer strongly preferred
• PA: Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
• PA: Minimum of three years' experience as a practicing Physician Assistant
• PA: Current MN state licensure and CPR certification required
• Experience and knowledge in oncology management strongly preferred

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care for patients.
• Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
• Performs procedures with minimal supervision.
• Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
• May provide case management for patients and their families.
• May mentor new advanced practice providers.

The incumbent will be based in our Chaska clinic location, with regular travel to our Waconia clinic and Ridgeview Medical Center in Arlington, MN. This role is a perfect fit for anyone with a passion for rural healthcare!

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates care for patients.
• Initiates and documents appropriate interventions; evaluates and records patient/family response and prescribes therapies as indicated.
• Performs procedures with minimal supervision.
• Assesses patient/family needs and provides education.
• Promotes wellness and recommends community resources to meet patient and family needs.
• Often incorporates evidence-based research into clinical practice.
• Solid knowledge of reimbursement procedures and documentation requirements.
• Completes patient charge capture and medical record documentation in a timely fashion.
• Likely to provide case management for patients and their families.
• Sometimes serves as a resource for nursing staff by providing information being studied in clinical trials.
• May provide palliative care for the patient and their families as needed.
• May promote/provide staff education
• Responsibilities may include rounding at affiliated hospitals, weekend or after-hour calls
• May mentor new advanced practice providers
• May precept APP students
• Other duties as assigned

Salary Level

$100,000-$180,000 annually, prorated by FTE

Qualifications

• Nurse Practitioner
  • Masters of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program for nursing education
  • Current Minnesota RN license and current certification as Nurse Practitioner
  • Minimum of three years of experience as a practicing NP
  • Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred
  • Prefer previous experience in oncology
• Physician Assistant
  • Successful completion of an accredited Physician Assistant program
  • Minimum of three years' experience as a practicing Physician Assistant
  • Prefer previous experience in oncology
  • Current MN state licensure and current CPR certification required
  • Experience and knowledge in the management of the physiologic and psychological effect of a cancer diagnosis and subsequent treatment strongly preferred
