Job summary

Atrium Health Navicent in Macon, GA is seeking a Medical Oncology APP to join a 5 MDs / 3 APPs team and provide hematology/oncology care. The role is hybrid with a 40-hour workweek, M-F 8 AM-5 PM, and rotating call coverage for evenings and weekends.

Ideal candidates have 1+ year in hematology/oncology, strong communication skills, and a commitment to collaborative clinical practice. Inpatient/hybrid qualifications may apply; advanced practice credentials are required.

Qualifications

• At least 1 year of hematology/oncology experience as an APP; open to new grads.
• ACNP/APRN certification required for inpatient or hybrid roles.
• PA certification is preferred for Physician Assistants.

Responsibilities

• Provide medical oncology care with a patient-centered approach.
• Collaborate closely with clinical team to ensure high-quality care.
• Maintain current knowledge of best practices and care standards.
• Contribute to rotating call coverage evenings and weekends.

Position Highlights:

• Full Time


• M-F 8 AM- 5 PM, No nights or weekends


• Practice of 5 MDs and 3 APPs


• Hybrid


• Patient load varies between 10- 12 patients daily


• Rotating call coverage for evenings and weekends

Ideal Candidate:

• At least 1 year of experience in hematology/oncology working as an APP, open to new grads


• Effective communication (written and verbal)


• Willingness to collaborate closely with clinical team


• Current on best practice and standards of care


• Displays self-initiative to learn

Nurse practitioners are required to have a master’s degree or doctorate in nursing practice. Acute care certification required for inpatient or hybrid positions.

Physician Assistants with certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants preferred. Current or pending CAQ certification preferred.
