Job summary

UVA Health seeks a Hematology/Oncology physician to join the UVA Community Health Cancer Service Line, primarily at Culpeper Medical Center and Gainesville Cancer Center in Northern Virginia. The role combines outpatient hematology/oncology care with strong academic support from UVA.

The schedule is Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, with a possible 4-day week. Call is telephone-based at 1:7. Expect 15–20 clinic patients daily and a 50/50 case mix. Teaching opportunities and telemedicine are available.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology.
• Eligible for Virginia medical licensure.

Based primarily atUVA Culpeper Medical CenterandUVA Gainesville Cancer Center, this position offers the opportunity to provide high-quality hematology and oncology care across both locations, supported by the strength of theUniversity of Virginia’s academic medical center.

This is agrowth positiondesigned to meet the increasing demand for advanced cancer care in Northern Virginia.

Practice Highlights Practice Setting:Outpatient, hospital-based, single-specialty group

Schedule:Monday–Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM (flexible 4-day workweek available)

Call:1:7, telephone only

Clinical Volume:15–20 clinic patients per day; average annual wRVUs ~5,500

Case Mix:50% oncology / 50% hematology

Hospital coverage:no inpatient service

Virtual Health:Telemedicine and virtual consults integrated into practice

Support Team:Advanced Practice Clinicians, nurse navigator for each provider, plus robust ancillary support including nutrition, social work, chaplaincy, smoking cessation, and patient advocacy services

Teaching Opportunities:Engagement with UVA Hematology/Oncology fellows (0–2 per year rotate through)

Radiation Oncology onsite Qualifications MD/DO with Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology

The base compensation range for this role is$434,001 - $671,007for a 1.0 clinical FTE status. Individual compensation will be determined by fair market value and the selected candidate's qualifications, clinical experience, specialty training, credentials, and/or education. Please note that the pay range does not include any applicable incentive compensation programs, such as productivity, quality, non-productivity, or other incentives that may be available for eligible positions.
