Job summary

UVA Health in Northern Virginia is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Hematologist/Oncologist to join the UVA Community Health Cancer Service Line, primarily based at UVA Culpeper Medical Center and UVA Gainesville Cancer Center.

The role offers outpatient, hospital-based practice with a flexible 4-day workweek, 1:6 call, and opportunities for teaching, research, and access to UVA's academic resources, tumor boards, and clinical trials across multiple community locations.

Qualifications

• MD/DO with Board Certification in Hematology and Oncology
• Eligible for medical licensure in Virginia
• Strong interest in delivering state-of-the-art cancer care in community settings

Responsibilities

• Outpatient, hospital-based, single-specialty group practice
• Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8 AM–5 PM with flex 4-day week option
• 1:6 call covering UVA Culpeper, Prince William, and Haymarket Centers
• See 15–20 clinic patients per day with ~5,500 wRVUs annually
• 50% oncology / 50% hematology case mix
• Bone marrow biopsies ~20 per year
• Telemedicine and virtual consults integrated into practice
• Teaching UVA Hematology/Oncology fellows (0–2/year)
