Bon Secours Mercy Health is seeking a Medical Assistant in an ambulatory/office setting. Under physician direction, you will assist with patient processing, diagnostic procedures, and direct/indirect patient care, serving pediatric to geriatric populations.

The role requires MA program completion or LPN licensure, at least 5 years MA experience, CPR certification, and strong interpersonal skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is preferred and clinical duties may include venipuncture and basic

Qualifications

• Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program, or Licensed Practical Nurse, or have a minimum of 5 years practical experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Two years of previous experience in a physician’s office or ambulatory care setting preferred.
• Must possess current CPR certification.
• Must possess strong interpersonal and communication skills to interact effectively with patients, families, physicians and staff.
• Must demonstrate the ability to multitask and manage varying workloads.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Office or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Directs patients to care areas and maintains patient flow.
• Performs diagnostic testing (EKG, PFT, minor lab); may perform venipuncture.
• Maintains patient records and charting with current information.
• Assists physician with procedures, treatments, minor surgeries and exams.
• Administers medications and documents.
• May float based on staffing needs; serves all age groups.
