The Call Center Specialist schedules patients for appointments, communicates necessary preparations (including new patient paperwork), and relays appointment information to offices. They pre-register new patients in Cerner, demonstrate Service Excellence, and answer incoming calls, serving as the department liaison. Responsibilities also include insurance verification, knowledge of insurance terms, reimbursement procedures, medical terminology, and practice services. Inputs statistical data into systems and performs other duties as assigned.
The role also involves front desk duties such as registration, check-in, collecting co-pays, scheduling, billing, and scanning records into EMR. Candidates should possess medical terminology knowledge, organizational and communication skills, adaptability to flexible schedules, professionalism, confidentiality, and problem-solving abilities. Reliability, tact, honesty, and discretion are essential for maintaining confidentiality and completing assignments successfully.
