Job summary

AdventHealth Medical Group Parker seeks a friendly Guest Services/Registration professional to handle patient check-in, collect co-pays, and verify demographics and insurance. You will coordinate with clinical teams to ensure smooth patient flow across multiple Parker locations.

Qualified candidates bring 1+ year in medical offices, familiarity with medical terminology, and strong customer service focus. CHAA is a plus; both on-site and collaborative care environments are offered.

Qualifications

• Associate and/or higher-level education in health services administration or related field preferred.
• High School Grad or equivalent required.
• 1+ year of customer services and medical office experience with medical terminology, coding, charge entry and payment collection.
• Prior collections experience preferred.
• Certified Healthcare Access Associate (CHAA) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answers incoming phone calls, responds to inquiries, and directs calls appropriately.
• Welcomes patients; updates, verifies, and enters patient demographics, insurance, and billing information and processes forms into systems.
• Registers patients for services, ensures accuracy, facilitates timely discharge, and maximizes reimbursement.
• Ensures all financial assessments and benefits memos are clear and thorough to support post-care financial needs.
• Maintains a working relationship with clinical partners to ensure open communication between clinical, ancillary, and patient access departments.
• Provides timely coverage of assigned work area to offer prompt patient service and availability for all clinical partners’ registration needs.
• Performs specialty services and duties as requested to ensure smooth operation of the Guest Services departments.
• Promotes a safe work environment.
• Communicates patients’ status to team members and guides patients on portal use and follow-up actions.
• Requests co-pays and/or outstanding balances at check-in; other duties as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Education

• Associate and/or higher-level education or completed coursework in health services administration or other related medical or business field. [Preferred]

• High School Grad or Equiv [Required]

Field of Study

• High School Grad or Equivalent Required

• Associate's Degree in Health Services Administration or other related medical or business field Preferred

Work Experience

• 1+ customer services and medical office or equivalent with medical terminology, coding, charge entry and payment collection. [Preferred]

• Prior collections experience. [Preferred]

Licenses and Certifications
