Responsibilities cover demographic and insurance data entry, eligibility verification, and cash handling, with emphasis on professional patient interaction and HIPAA compliance.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent.
• Computer literate and able to perform math calculations.
• Strong spelling skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors in person or by phone in a prompt, courteous manner.
• Obtain, update, and enter patient demographic and insurance info into the PMS.
• Scan insurance cards and verify coverage and eligibility.
• Collect co-pays, co-insurance, and past due balances per site protocol.
• Handle daily cash, checks, and credit card payments; perform deposits.
• Open and close switchboard; relay messages to the appropriate staff.
• Schedule and reschedule appointments; manage recall lists.
• Provide updates on delays and assist with patient questions.
• Adhere to HIPAA guidelines and maintain patient confidentiality.
