Job summary

Endeavor Health is hiring a Medical Office Receptionist in Arlington Heights, IL. The role involves greeting patients, scheduling, registering new patients, collecting co-pays, and assisting with office workflow across multiple locations.

Hours are Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM, with occasional travel and flexible hours to meet operations. Prior customer service and comfort with medical terminology are preferred. A high school diploma is expected.

Qualifications

• One year of customer service work experience or interaction with the public required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Proficient computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Reports to the Site Supervisor; provides office support including reception, scheduling, and patient assistance to ensure high-quality patient service.
• Greets patients and visitors, ensuring congenial and hospitable service.
• Directs patients to appropriate departments or resources; notifies relevant staff of arrivals.
• Registers new patients and schedules/ reschedules appointments; follows up on cancellations.
• Collects co-pays and balances; books follow-up appointments as needed.
• Responds to patient questions per organizational policies; may communicate with other departments to resolve issues.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.76 - $27.20 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

• Position: Medical Office Receptionist - Various Specialties
• Location: 880 W Central Rd, Arlington Heights, IL.
• Full Time: 40 hours/week
• Hours: Monday – Friday 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM.
• Required Travel: This role includes some travel to other locations and requires flexible hours to meet operational needs

What you will do

• Reporting to the Site Supervisor, provides office support including reception, scheduling, and patient assistance related duties at designated points of service to insure a high-quality level of patient service and satisfaction.
• Greets incoming patients and visitors at various points of service within the facility providing congenial and hospitable customer service.
• Refers patients and visitors to appropriate department or resource.
• Notifies appropriate resource of patients and visitors arrival in a timely manner.
• Assures patient demographics and eligibility are correct.
• Receives and forwards telephone calls and takes and relays messages per protocol.
• Registers new patients and schedules appointments for providers and services.
• Reschedules appointments and follows up on cancelled and missed appointments.
• Collects co pays and balances and makes follow up appointments as necessary.
• Responds to patient and visitor questions in a timely and appropriate manner utilizing knowledge of the organizations policies and procedures.
• May communicate with other departments, team members, physician offices, the hospital, or patients in response to requests for information, follow-up, or problem resolution.
• Performs various clerical duties as needed in assigned work areas.
• May order supplies for work area, open mail etc.
• Operates standard office machines including computer, calculator, photocopier, fax and credit card terminal.
• May assist with medical records and clinical personnel as needed.
• Maintains work and waiting areas in a neat and professional manner.
• May perform a variety of special projects as assigned.
• Adheres to all NCH standards, policies and procedures.

What you will need

• Education: Level of knowledge normally acquired through the completion of high school or equivalent work experience.
• Experience: One year of customer service work experience or interaction with the public required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Unique or Preferred Skills: Proficient computer skills.
