Job summary

UF Health seeks a Medical Assistant to provide high-quality patient care and administrative support in a clinical setting. Under supervision of a physician and Office Manager or Team Lead, the role covers front-desk duties, patient registrations, scheduling, and basic clinical tasks.

The position requires CMA certification within 6 months, BLS at hire, and prior MA experience or healthcare clerical background. High school diploma is required.

Qualifications

• 1 year medical assistant experience preferred; 2-4 years clerical/customer service in healthcare preferred.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required within 6 months.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) required at time of hire.
• Medical Terminology Certificate preferred within 30 days.

Responsibilities

• Greet patients and provide excellent customer service.
• Direct messages and calls to appropriate personnel.
• Maintain patient scheduling and set appointments.
• Register patients and collect demographics.
• Keys patient dispositions, diagnostic codes, patient orders, charges and payments.
