Job summary

MDVIP is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to support our concierge primary care team. You will perform clinical and administrative tasks, build strong patient relationships, and assist with exams, testing, and documentation in a high-touch practice.

You will manage patient records, coordinate care plans, and ensure HIPAA-compliant handling of information in a patient-centered environment. Experience with EMR systems and preventive testing is valued.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; completion of an accredited medical assistant program.
  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
  • Phlebotomy experience.
  • Two years of related medical experience (EKG, injections, vitals, triage, etc.).
  • Two years of knowledge in examination, diagnostic, and treatment room procedures.
  • Two years of knowledge in medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
  • Two years of OSHA and HIPAA compliance.
  • Medical office lab testing knowledge and experience.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build meaningful relationships with a select patient panel.
  • Conduct thorough intake and clinical assessments without rushing.
  • Work closely with our physician in a true collaborative partnership during patient examinations and
  • procedures, ensuring a comfortable and efficient environment.
  • Assist with and coordinate advanced diagnostic and preventive testing.
  • Manage patient records by accurately inputting information into electronic health records (EHR) and maintaining confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Coordinate comprehensive care plans and follow up with patients personally.
  • Serve as a primary point of contact, responding to patient needs with care and attention.
  • Draws blood from patients and administers injectables (vaccines and medication as directed by physician).
  • Performs waived or moderately complex tests authorized by the physician.
  • Follows established laboratory procedures for specimen handling, processing test analyses, reporting, and maintaining records of the patient test results.
  • Strictly adheres to the lab’s quality control policies and procedures. Performs quality controls on all point of care testing and laboratory equipment, including documenting and storing all quality control activities.
  • Performs laboratory instrument’s preventive maintenance and calibration verification including documentation on appropriate logs.
  • Performs proficiency test samples successfully and maintains records of each event.
  • Follows the laboratory policies whenever test systems are not within the laboratory’s established ranges.
  • Maintains refrigerator/freezer logs and follows established vaccine storage policy and protocol.
  • Replenishes, orders, and maintains adequate clinical supply inventory from approved vendors.
  • Keeps accurate logs and records as required and assigned.
  • Monitors expiration dates on all clinical supplies, injectables, and medications in the lab and storage areas.
  • Decontaminates and cleans all equipment and surfaces in the lab daily.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as needed to support practice operations.

  • Experience in a clinical setting, particularly in outpatient practices.
  • Familiarity with specific EMR systems (e.g., EPIC, Athena).
  • Experience with patient education and health promotion.
