Medical Office Coordinator - Vascular Surgery - Full Time - Days

Provides indirect patient care in the office/clinic setting. Coordinates phone calls, appointments and prescription authorizations. Acts as liaison between the patients and clinical staff and/or provider. Manages providers schedule, canceling/rescheduling as necessary. Performs various clerical duties such as correspondence to patients and/or insurance companies.

Core Job Responsibilities
  • Provides non-clinical patient support/act as liaison between patients and clinical staff and providers
  • Utilizes phone notes for all communication/documentation between self and patient
  • Answers phone calls (message to providers, appointments made/changed, normal lab results, referring to nurse when clinically appropriate)
  • Completes cross training in other positions, as applicable
  • Sends letters to patients as needed to inform of procedure/testing dates.
  • Sends letters to insurance companies appealing denied services
  • Facilitates provider to provider calls
  • All other duties as assigned by the ACP Administrative Team
Education/Experience Requirements

REQUIRED:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • 1-2 years of experience in a healthcare related setting
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize work and communicate effectively

Preferred:

  • Experience with insurance company rules/regulations and medical terminology strongly recommended
