• The Urgent Care Mill Ave is located at 3244 S. Mill Ave, #101, Tempe, Arizona 85282

• The hours are variable days from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM, with rotating weekends and Holidays

The incumbent is required to support other Urgent Care clinics as needed, including front desk responsibilities.

Responsibilities
Job Summary

Supports various aspects of the practice, including charge entry and collection of co-payments. Assists physicians in maintaining efficient patient flow. Performs clerical and patient support duties such as scheduling, reception, data input, and exam room preparation. Works with managed care plans for prior authorizations. Reports to the Manager and physicians for office and clinical duties. Demonstrates knowledge to provide appropriate care per policies and protocols. Upholds HonorHealth values by demonstrating integrity, respect, caring, accountability, and excellence.

  • Schedules patients, prepares them for appointments, and manages referrals and authorizations. Collects co-payments and manages billing entries. Conducts confirmation calls to reduce no-shows.
  • Prepares exam rooms, reviews patient charts, takes vital signs, and assists providers during exams. Maintains supplies and ensures lab and appointment recalls are managed.
  • Handles phone communications with patients, pharmacies, and others, relaying information and managing medication refills.
  • Performs front desk duties including greeting, verification, documentation, and scheduling.
  • Coordinates with insurance companies for authorizations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education

High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of a Medical Assistant training program required.

Licenses and Certifications

Completion of an approved training program or passing an accredited medical assistant exam. BLS certification required. Must have or obtain a Fingerprint Clearance Card within seven days of employment for specified sites.
