Job summary

OSF HealthCare is seeking a Medical Office Assistant to support both clinical and front office functions in our Illinois practice. You will perform clerical tasks and assist in patient care, contributing to a smooth clinical workflow and quality patient service.

Required are a High School Diploma or GED and Medical Assistant Program completion, with at least six months of healthcare experience and basic medical terminology knowledge.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Minimum six months' experience with computers, Microsoft Office, and email; healthcare facility experience preferred.
• Current enrollment or completion of OSF Medical Group Prime Path Bridge Program.
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; basic medical terminology knowledge.

Expected pay for this position is $18.85 - $21.21/hour. Actual pay will be determined by experience, skills and internal equity. This is an Hourly position.

Overview

Medical Office Assistants perform clinical and administrative duties consistent with Medical Assistant program education, training and experience. Works in both the clinical and front office functions of the practice providing clerical and assisting in the delivery of health care and patient care support activities. The Medical Office Assistant performs duties in accordance with the specific needs of the practice.

Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Education: High School Diploma/ GED
• Experience: Minimum of six months’ experience with computer, Microsoft Office, and email. Minimum of 6 months’ health care facility clinical experience.
• Clinical education (including evidence of current enrollment or completion of OSF Medical Group Prime Path Bridge Program)
• Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program.
• Other Skills/ Knowledge: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Some knowledge of medical terminology.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience: Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent. Minimum of six months’ experience as a medical office assistant (MOA) or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) or equivalent. Minimum of six months’ experience with an electronic health record.
• Completion of a medical assistant program or equivalent Minimum of six months experience as a medical assistant or CNA or equivalent Minimum of six months experience with an electronic health record.
