Responsibilities
Job Summary

Supports various aspects of the practice, including charge entry and collection of co-payments. Assists in maintaining efficient patient flow and performs clerical and patient support duties under physician supervision. Ensures compliance with policies and demonstrates integrity, respect, and excellence in providing care.

Essential Functions
  1. Schedules patients, verifies authorizations, collects co-payments, and manages billing information.
  2. Prepares treatment rooms, reviews patient charts, takes vital signs, and assists providers during exams.
  3. Handles telephone communications, including relaying information and pharmacy refills.
  4. Performs front office duties such as reception, verification, and scheduling.
  5. Coordinates with insurance companies for authorizations and referrals.
  6. Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program and a High School Diploma or GED.
  • 1 year experience in a medical setting (preferred).
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Completion of an approved medical assistant training or certification exam.
  • Fingerprint Clearance Card or ability to obtain one within 7 days.
  • Medical Assistant Certification (preferred, with reimbursement offered).
