Job Description Summary

MUSC Community Physicians (MCP) is an entity within the Medical University of South Carolina that provides healthcare to patients within the rural health network throughout South Carolina.

Provide administrative support at the front desk of the clinic, including monitoring the appointment line, scheduling appointments, answering multiline phones, processing payments, completing client registration, scheduling interpreters, and retrieving billing charges.

Job Responsibilities
  • Ensure efficient daily operations of the medical office
  • Handle scheduling, patient registration, telephone triage, medical records, billing, and collections
  • Coordinate clinic preparation, patient check-in/out, charge posting, cash management, and appointment scheduling
  • Provide customer service, message distribution, ancillary scheduling, and referrals management
Minimum Education and Experience

High school diploma or equivalent plus one year of patient care experience, or certification as a Nursing Assistant, Medical Assistant, EMT, Paramedic, or a Bachelor's degree.

Additional Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED with 1 year of customer service experience
  • Ability to interpret financial procedures and regulations preferred
  • Experience with hospital information systems or word processing preferred
