Overview
Performs a variety of clinical and clerical activities to expedite the patient flow and business activities of the medical office.

Qualifications
Education: High School Diploma/GED
Work Experience: Medical Assisting

Responsibilities

  • Assist nurses and providers to ensure quality healthcare and smooth patient flow.
  • Prepare patients for provider by taking vital signs and screening medical health.
  • Obtain lab specimens from patients as needed.
  • Support providers and nurses in daily duties by sharing necessary information.
  • Maintain flexibility in work environment to promote efficiency.
  • Transport patients to vehicles.
  • Order linens, nutrients, and supplies.
  • Check for expired supplies and dispose of them properly.
  • Assist in maintaining a therapeutic environment promoting effective and cost-efficient patient care.
  • Know safety policies and follow organizational procedures.
  • Keep exam rooms and procedure areas clean.
  • Participate in instrument decontamination.
  • Assist in scheduling follow-up appointments.
  • Assist provider and nurse with office procedures and exams.
  • Provide care appropriate to patients of all ages.
  • Assist in the procedure area and participate in learning new procedures.
  • Perform point of care waived testing and lab testing following policies.
  • Provide patient education in a caring manner and support clerical workflow.
  • Assist with patient education on health topics.
  • Participate in continuing education.
  • Handle front office tasks: answering calls, scheduling, chart retrieval, scanning, filing.
  • Use all office computer systems competently.

Compensation And Benefits
