Job Location: Medical Mall MLK – MOBILE, AL 36527
JOB SUMMARY: Relying on experience, judgment and under general supervision, will be driving Franklin Primary Health Center Mobile Medical Unit as well as working within the clinic as required.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Drives mobile unit within the limits of the law
- Conduct pre‑daily operations safety checks and submit all checklist reports to Supervisor weekly
- Maintains mobile unit, equipment and replenishes non‑medical supplies as needed
- Coordinates sewage pumping
- Ensures the mobile unit is clean and in good working condition
- Notifies nursing/dental staff if the mobile unit has not been restocked
- Reports any malfunctions of equipment to immediate supervisor to schedule repair services. Maintains open communication with the manufacturer while it is under warranty
- Responsible for selecting the site during event for setup
- Responsible for all manuals on the mobile unit
- Performs miscellaneous errands as required
- Assists in controlling crowds, protecting valuables, or performing other duties as needed
- Assists medical personnel as needed
- Provides clerical support for Dental and Medical patient intake process. Obtains patient demographic and medical history. Verifies patient information. Prepares, assists and accurately completes all forms
- Must be able to work flexible work schedules for weekends and special events before and after
- Assists in training potential CDL applicants selected by the organization
- Maintains CDL certification and safe driving records
- Observes all state/local traffic regulations, laws, and ordinances in the operation of a motor vehicle while engaged in Center business
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist with other transportation duties including courier services as assigned
- Assist with maintenance repair work duties as assigned
- Performs other duties, as assigned

HEALTH AND SAFETY REQUIREMENTS
- Must adhere to safety policies and procedures
- Must receive Safety and Hazardous Communication training annually

- Knowledgeable of OSHA and CLIA requirements to assure compliance
PRIVACY RULE COMPLIANCE REQUIREMENTS
- Adheres to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA Privacy Rule) policies and procedures
- Must successfully complete Privacy Rule compliance training annually or as revisions are made to the policies and procedures
- Must comply with Privacy Rule guidelines by learning to protect FPHC patient’s medical privacy
- Must comply with Privacy Rule guidelines by appropriately maintaining our patient information in compliance with national standards
- Must comply with Privacy Rule guidelines by providing appropriate security of FPHC patient records
PROTECTED HEALTH INFORMATION (PHI) ACCESS – RESTRICTED
For purposes of HIPAA Compliance there are 4 workforce categories, which define the level of access to PHI that is granted to the incumbent. This position is classified under Ancillary Providers and therefore granted Restricted access – to be defined according to workforce member’s specific job duties, if for non‑treatment purposes, according to the purpose for which use is intended. Use and disclosure must be in accordance with applicable privacy policies and procedures.
PERFORMANCE STANDARDS
Performance will be evaluated by the COO annually wherein an overall satisfactory rating is considered as a minimum acceptable level of performance.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent. Must hold current Class B CDL license, clean driving record and 21 years of age, as required by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulation. Prefer front and/or back office clinical experience but training is available. Demonstrates knowledge of standard concepts, practices and procedures in field.
CERTIFICATION, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Valid AL driver license with CDL Class B certification, liability insurance
PHYSICAL/MENTAL DEMANDS
Sitting, standing, stooping, walking and driving required to perform duties for Mobile Clinic environment. Eye‑hand coordination and manual dexterity required. The ability to distinguish letters or symbols required. The use of office equipment, such as copier, computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, calculators or fax machines is required. Normal vision range required.
