Job summary

The Department of Basic Biomedical Science at the Touro College of Osteopathic Medicine (TouroCOM) in Harlem, NY invites applications for a 12-month, full-time faculty position in Microbiology and/or Immunology at the Assistant Professor level.

Responsibilities include developing curriculum across campuses, delivering instruction via live and flipped formats, recording lectures, and participating in governance activities.

Qualifications

• PhD in microbiology, immunology or a related field, or MD/PhD/DO/PhD in the listed fields.
• Prior teaching in a medically related curriculum is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with faculty on all 3 campuses in the development, organization, and delivery of the Microbiology and Immunology curriculum presented simultaneously on all campuses.
• Teach using a combination of live and recorded sessions applied in the flipped classroom format.
• Develop and record video lectures in our professional media studio and facilitate weekly live discussions with students.
• Contribute to institutional and/or departmental governance and service.
• Conduct student admissions interviews, serve as student advisor, and participate on college committees.
• Develop scholarly activity resulting in peer-reviewed publications.
