Job summary

South Bellmore Veterinary Group is seeking a Medical Lead Veterinarian to champion medical excellence across our AAHA-accredited hospital on Long Island. You will mentor associates, partner with the Practice Manager, and drive continuous improvement in patient care and client service.

This senior leadership role combines clinical practice with strategic oversight. You will lead by example in medicine, foster collaboration, and guide the team toward achieving production goals while maintaining

Qualifications

• DVM degree and valid state license in good standing.
• Minimum 2 years of practical clinical experience.
• Servant leadership mindset and collaborative relationships.
• Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Understanding of hospital financial and operating management.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Outlook.
• Enthusiasm for a growth-oriented culture.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor your DVM team, conducting performance discussions and development goals.
• Model medical excellence in medicine, client service and efficiency while practicing as an associate veterinarian.
• Drive hospital performance with annual operating plans and EBITDA-conscious management.
• Foster a culture of growth with monthly doctor meetings and mentorship programs.
• Be an ambassador for the hospital and Mission Pet Health through community engagement.
