UMC Health System is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician to perform specimen testing and ensure accuracy of results for providers. The role reports to the Supervisor, Medical Laboratory, and requires attention to detail and reliable communication with nursing staff and other departments.
Responsibilities include preparing and testing patient specimens, maintaining equipment, and following CAP, AABB, DNV, and FDA standards as applicable.

Medical Laboratory Technicians are responsible for testing patient specimens, ensuring accuracy of tests, and communicating results to providers.
Reports to: Supervisor, Medical Laboratory.
Daily assignments may include but are not limited to:

This position has much interaction with nursing staff and other hospital departments.
Medical Laboratory Technicians can expect to stand for long periods of time and walk frequently. This position also requires frequent stooping, sitting, reaching, bending and kneeling. The incumbent may also be required to carry items up to 50 pounds. Near visual and color acuity is required.
This position is subject to inside environmental changes that may include constant change in temperatures and minimal exposure to cleaning chemicals.
