Job description

This position is located in Raleigh, Wake County, within the Department of Health and Human Services at 4312 District Dr, Raleigh, NC 27607.

Pay Rate: $34.40/hour, based on education and experience.

The role involves validating and implementing CLIA-compliant molecular methods for detecting resistant bacteria, including performing bacterial culture, DNA extractions, real-time PCR, and whole genome sequencing.

Applicants must clearly demonstrate their qualifications, training, and experience relevant to the job, as 'See Resume' is not acceptable.

  • Must meet CLIA '88 requirements for high complexity testing personnel; transcripts are required.
  • Experience with infectious diseases and laboratory safety precautions.
  • Experience in bacterial culture and molecular testing techniques.
  • Preferred: Certification in molecular biology, experience with LIMS, and WGS on Illumina MiSeq.

Minimum qualifications include a degree in a relevant field and specified years of laboratory experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
