Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center in Louisiana seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist 1-3 to join our Pathology team. This 24-bed acute care facility serves the Florida Parishes in Southeast Louisiana with general surgery and a 24-hour ED.

The candidate will perform a broad spectrum of diagnostic tests, maintain QC, and support staff across Hematology, Chemistry, Bacteriology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Parasitology, and Serology, while working varied shifts including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

• Possession of a current Louisiana CLS license required.

Responsibilities

• Performs CAP inspections as required for Accreditation.
• Maintains Lead Tech duties and assists staff.
• Oversees Molecular Testing on Cepheid analyzer; QC and policy writing.
• Maintains preventive maintenance and troubleshoots equipment.
• Performs routine and advanced diagnostic tests across multiple areas.
• Works all shifts.
• Tests patients of all ages.
• Assumes duties in supervisor's absence.

Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technologist 1-3 to join our team! We are a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services, including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. GENERAL DESCRIPTION

The incumbent in this position will perform a wide variety of clinical diagnostic tests with emphasis on recognizing and resolving problems and requiring the application of interpretive judgment at LSU Health-Lallie Kemp Medical Center. This position will be required to work various shifts, weekends and holidays.

Possession of a current Louisiana Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Generalist or Clinical Laboratory Scientist-Specialist license plus one of the following:

• A bachelor’s degree in medical technology or clinical laboratory science; OR
• A bachelor's degree in a biological, physical, or chemical science plus one year of experience as a medical technologist.

Job Duties

• Performs CAP inspections as required for Accreditation.
• Maintains Lead Tech duties in the absence of Department Supervisors at Lallie Kemp and helps phlebotomists, techs, and all staff with any questions.
• Monitors and reviews all operations on Molecular Testing on the Cepheid analyzer, including maintenance, quality control, writing policies, and re-stocking of supplies. Notifying manager of any needs.
• Maintain preventive maintenance and trouble-shoots all equipment used when malfunctions occur.
• Perform routine and advanced diagnostic laboratory tests in the following areas: Hematology, Coagulation, Chemistry, Bacteriology, Blood Bank, Urinalysis, Parasitology, and Serology. Perform testing without direct supervision.
• Responsible for working all shifts.
• Perform laboratory test on patients of all ages.
• In the absence of supervisor, assume duties. Any and all other related duties as assigned to include ensuring departmental coverage for other staff.

The incumbent shall possess and maintain a valid BLS certification from American Heart Association before appointment.
