Job summary

Sanford Health in Walker, MN is seeking a Laboratory Technician to manage pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical testing within the Walker Clinic.

You will follow SOPs, ensure safety, quality and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with other departments. Requires MLT/MLS credentials, or registry-eligible, with BLS preferred.

Job Summary

Responsible for pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical phases of testing. Follows standard operating procedures and ensures laboratory safety, quality and regulatory requirements are met. Serves as a laboratory resource to other health care personnel and collaborates with other departments across the enterprise. Demonstrates critical and independent judgment in decision-making and problem-solving. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Associates degree in Laboratory Science required. MLT

Bachelors degree in Laboratory Science required. MLS

Possess a national certification for Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Clinical Laboratory Technician (CLT) through an approved Health and Human Services (HHS) agency, for example American Society for Clinical Pathology (ASCP); or be registry eligible. Registry eligible candidates must successfully complete the Board of Registry examination within 12 months of employment. If working in North Dakota (ND), must be licensed or have a provisional license, by the ND Board of Clinical Laboratory Practice. Maintain continuing education credits equivalent to the state requirements as needed for license and certifications. May be required to have Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
