Job summary

HCA Houston Healthcare Southeast in Pasadena, Texas, is seeking a Medical Lab Technician for a part-time role. The position supports the Laboratory with data collection, performance improvement activities, and interdepartmental communication to ensure high-quality patient care.

The role requires a bachelor or associate degree in a medical technology field, 1 year of clinical lab experience, and certification eligibility (ASCP/AMT MT/MLT or equivalent) with certification within one year of hire.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or Associate degree in chemical, physical, biological, or medical technology/clinical laboratory science/medical laboratory scientist (MT/CLS/MLS) or Medical Laboratory Technician/Clinical Laboratory Technician (MLT/CLT) from an accredited institution.
• 1 year clinical laboratory experience or equivalent clinical lab training.
• ASCP or AMT MT/MLT or equivalent certification or be currently eligible to sit for MLT or equivalent certification exam preferred. Certification must be acquired within one year of hire.

Responsibilities

• Assists in data collection for statistical surveys or other reports generated by the Department.
• Participates in performance improvement activities within the Department.
• Facilitates communication between the Laboratory and members of the Medical Staff and other Hospital Departments to enhance patientcare services.
• Notifies supervisor of any unusual requests to ensure maximum utilization of resources and maintenance of quality care.
• Performs computer functions as necessary according to job duties.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.
