Atlantic Advanced Urgent Care in Clark, NJ is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician for per diem shifts with day and evening coverage. Duties include performing routine and complex tests on the Core Lab using Sysmex and Roche analyzers, ensuring QA, preparing reagents, and managing inventory.

Prior experience and ASCP eligibility are preferred. Candidates must have a High School Diploma or GED; BS diploma with MT/MLS noted or transcript if not specified may be required.

Qualifications

• ASCP eligible preferred.

• 3 years’ med lab tech experience or related.
• Copy of BS diploma with MT/MLS required if applicable; transcript for non-specified diplomas; foreign equivalency as needed.

Job Description

Medical Laboratory Technician -

Urgent care Hours: Monday - Friday 8am - 8pm / Satruday and Sundays 8am-5pm - must be willing to work evenings and rotating weekends / minimum 1 weekend in 6 week period

• Responsible for a variety of routine and complex technical tasks in the performance of laboratory tests (Core Lab using Sysmex and Roche analyzers) to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease.
• Demonstrates proficiency and follows testing procedures and policies by adherence to quality assurance guidelines for equipment and work area, documenting corrective action to any non-conforming event.
• Prepares reagents, maintains an adequate supply of materials for test procedures and manages inventory to effectively reduce departmental waste/expense.
• Exercises clinical judgment in assessing priorities while identifying, problem solving and offering solutions to test systems through the appropriate department channels, i.e. contacts hotline to troubleshoot with a specialist when necessary to resolve the issue or set-up service when appropriate.

• 3 years prior experience or experience in Med lab tech position
• Must provide copy of BS diploma with MT or MLS specified on diploma
