Qualifications

• Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or Biological Sciences or related field from an accredited college or university.
• Certification required (ASCP or AMT) or eligible to take exam. Must successfully complete certification (ASCP or AMT) within 18 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• The Medical Laboratory Technician is responsible for accurately performing a variety of routine and complex laboratory tests and reporting results within the expected turnaround time to assist healthcare providers delivering the most optimal patient outcomes.
• Must be available to sign-up for on-call shifts and provide coverage for other shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays as needed.
• Performs a variety of tasks including specimen transport, specimen processing for in-house and send-out testing for reference laboratories, answering telephone calls, reviewing pending logs, etc.
