Job summary

St. Luke’s Health System in Idaho is seeking a Medical Laboratory Technician (Non-Certified) to perform routine tests in clinical labs, following established procedures to support patient diagnosis and treatment.

The role provides opportunity to develop working knowledge under supervision in a compliant lab environment. The position requires an Associate of Science or military medical lab training plus 2 years MLT experience, with ASCP_MLT or AMT_MLT certification.

Qualifications

• Education: Associate of Science or completion of an official military medical laboratory training course + 2 years MLT experience.
• Experience: 0 years’ experience.
• Certification: Medical Laboratory Technician (ASCP_MLT or AMT_MLT).

Responsibilities

• Performs routine tests on specimens in an accurate, organized, and prioritized manner following laboratory procedures and policies to ensure quality and time guidelines in accordance with all regulatory agency requirements.
• Collects a variety of specimens as required by specific section needs, with skill and sensitivity to needs of the patient.
• Ensures specimens are properly identified, collected, labeled and stored.
• Performs instrument maintenance according to section procedures.
• Under direct supervision perform routine Quality Control, Linearity, Calibration, Delta Checks, on laboratory equipment. Maintains inventory of supplies.
• Follows department policy maintaining all necessary records and documentation.
• Ensures input is accurate and complete.
• Maintains a safe and clean working environment.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
