A leading health system seeks a Medical Laboratory Technician to work in the Microbiology Lab. This role requires performing various laboratory procedures, demonstrating independent judgment, and contributing to quality improvement efforts. Candidates should possess an Associates Degree in a relevant field and ideally have ASCP certification, with preference given to those with laboratory experience.
Job Description - MEDICAL LABORATORY TECHNICIAN - Microbiology Lab - POOL (Temple University Hospital) (242674)
Performs a wide variety of laboratory procedures using both manual and automated methods. Expected to demonstrate a considerable degree of independent judgment regarding performance and reporting of results. Actively participates in quality improvement activities within the laboratory.
Associates Degree in Medical Laboratory Technology, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or Life Sciences with 26 science credits and appropriate experience in a CLIA laboratory, or Military Training Program (including official U.S. Military medical laboratory procedures training and holding the military occupational specialty of Medical Laboratory Specialist - Laboratory Technician). A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree to meet regulatory requirements.
1 Year experience in relevant laboratory section (Preferred).
ASCP - American Society for Clinical Pathology (Preferred).
