Our laboratories offer some of Indiana’s most comprehensive services, operating 24/7 and performing over 19 million tests annually. Besides serving IU Health, we provide testing services to hospitals and physicians nationwide.

Shift Details

Full-Time, Nights - Overnight (Monday - Friday, rotating weekends and holidays)

Responsibilities

The Medical Laboratory Technician assists with laboratory testing on patient specimens, providing diagnostic and treatment information under supervision. Responsibilities include maintaining performance records, exercising independent judgment to produce valid test results, adhering to standard operating procedures, and contributing to procedural development and modification as directed by management or the laboratory director.

Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related science (Certification not required); or
  • Associate Degree from an approved Medical Laboratory Technician Program or Military Medical Laboratory Specialist certification (minimum 50 weeks course);
  • Certification (NCA, AMT, ASCP, HEW, or CLA) within 12 months of employment if holding an associate degree, with employment consequences if not achieved;
  • Knowledge of laboratory techniques, procedures, and testing equipment maintenance;
  • Ability to maintain quality control and records;
  • Proficiency with computers and familiarity with safety regulations.
