Job description
Overview

International SOS Government Medical Services, Inc. delivers customized medical and security risk management and wellbeing solutions to enable clients to operate safely and effectively in challenging environments. The organization provides clinical services, telemedicine, referrals, and aeromedical evacuation, supporting government and contractor personnel worldwide.

Location: Iraq

Responsibilities
  • Collect and process biological specimens for laboratory testing.
  • Conduct routine and specialized tests in hematology, microbiology, chemistry, and blood bank.
  • Maintain laboratory equipment and troubleshoot technical issues.
  • Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean laboratory environment.
  • Record and report test results accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with pathologists and other medical staff to interpret results and ensure quality patient care.
  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations.
  • Actively participate in Mass Casualty exercises and events.
  • Complete required organizational compliance education, including client-specified requirements for Joint Commission Healthcare Staffing Services certification or other regulatory bodies.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years recent experience as Medical Laboratory Technician, including at least 6 months within the last year.
  • Certification as Medical Laboratory Technician through ASCP, AMT, NCALP, or AAB.
  • Current American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Electronic Medical Records (EMR).
  • Experience on a military site working as a government subcontractor or prime contractor (preferred).

Education Required:

  • Associate degree in medical laboratory technology or a related field.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
  • Work involves sitting and standing for prolonged periods.
  • May require bending, stooping, and lifting up to 25 lbs.

Other Special Qualifications:

  • U.S. or Permanent Resident Card required.
  • Valid U.S. Passport with at least 18 months before expiration; must maintain passport during stay in Iraq.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (MRPT).
  • Must be able to relocate to Iraq for the duration of the project.
  • Must be able to read, write, and speak English effectively.
