Job summary

ERP International, LLC seeks a full-time Medical Laboratory Technician to join the team at David Grant Medical Center, Travis AFB, CA.

The role involves performing a wide variety of lab tests, adhering to QC, collecting specimens, and maintaining infection control. Requires graduation from an accredited MLT program and current ASCP or AMT certification with BLS; government background check required.

Qualifications

• Graduation from an approved Medical Laboratory Technician program.
• Minimum 1 year experience.
• Current ASCP or AMT certification, BLS.
• Government background check required.

Responsibilities

• Perform a wide variety of laboratory tests either manually or using automated instrumentation.
• Evaluate quality control information against measurable criteria in the performance of laboratory tests.
• Receive written requisitions for laboratory tests.
• Obtain laboratory specimens and instruct staff on proper specimen collection.
• Observe test reactions, changes of color, or formation of precipitates; analyze results.
• Bring to the attention of the supervisor any unusual or grossly abnormal test result.
• Perform light general cleaning of work areas and equipment.
• Participate in QC and CAP proficiency testing programs.
• Adhere to infection control procedures and PPE usage.
• Participate in training and continuing medical education.
• Ensure a safe work environment and safe work habits.
• Assist with training laboratory staff and programs.
• Participate in frozen blood program tasks.
